blast from the past

whether this account will see use depends on where the migration directs itself ... but it's fascinating nonetheless to see what a difference it makes on mindset to be back to a text-based platform, I almost feel an essay coming on

Right? It's actually really disorienting, since these sort of sites were such a huge part of my internet life during undergrad, yet I haven't used a site formatted this way since I left LJ in 2010.

Hi sethnakht! I've really enjoyed your commentary and I would hate to lose touch with you. (I haven't used LJ or a LJ clone in ages but I'm curious whether I'll get used to it again)

Even if it's just for a week, I'm going to enjoy the return to text-based blogging (not that it'll be hard to embed images into posts, which I'm sure I'll do), but even more I'm enjoying being able to have a back-and-forth conversation where I don't have to worry about taking up space on other people's dashes. It's all in the comments! I can write however much or as little as I feel! FREEING.

Hi sethnakht! Glad to see you here. :) Looking forward to the commentary, and to be honest I hope it lasts.

LETS HOLLER ABOUT DARTH VADER FOREVER. Then people have to get into this platform, right?!

I was just thinking about this yesterday, honestly. I post more regularly on Tumblr because it lends itself to quick updates easily. Livejournal always required me to think about what I put to text, so I at least see more writing coming out of this format for me.
